Advent Wreath Blessing
Everyone is
invited to join us each Monday morning at 8:30 a.m. during
Advent as we bless our school wreath in the front hallway.
This Monday’s Advent Wreath Blessing will be done by
the 3rd & 4th Graders.
Family Advent Project
Coming home
with the oldest student tonight in each family is a tagboard
angel. Please
decorate your angel and return it to school by next Thursday,
December 10th. Instructions
about this project are taped to the back of each angel.
Thank you!
School Spirit Days!
Our new
student council this year has come up with some ideas that are
fun for the students to participate in without taking away from
class time. Our
first school spirit day will involve the students wearing Santa
Hats, Reindeer antlers, or Elf Hats.
If your child/ren has any of
these three things, they can wear them to school on Tuesday,
December 15th. If
your child/ren does not have them we
encourage the students to wear green or red that day.
More school spirit days will be announced in the
newsletter as the year progresses.
Christmas Program
This year’s
Christmas Program is called, “Once Upon
a Christmas Cheery.” Please
join us in celebration of the season at our performances.
Our dress rehearsal will be Friday, December 11th
at 1:00 p.m. and our regular performance will be on Sunday,
December 13th at 2:00 p.m.
Please have your child/ren
dress up for each performance.
Please do not have them wear jeans for the performances.
Thank you!
Caroling Attire
When your
child/ren is set to go caroling with
their class to the Bank,
Senior
Center
, or Nursing Homes, they are more than welcome to make the
occasion more festive by wearing a Santa hat, Reindeer antlers,
or Elf hat.

Winter Attire
It’s that
time of year! Please
send your children with everything they’ll need for winter
weather. This
includes snowpants, boots, hats,
mittens, and coats. We
go outside every day unless it is 0 or below.
Please make sure that your children have everything they
need.
Holiday
Train
Students and
staff at St. Mary’s School will be walking down to the Depot
to meet the holiday train that is coming to
Tracy
, Tuesday, December 8th.
Permission slips will be coming home soon.
The holiday train is encouraging everyone to bring a
non-perishable food item to the performance and we would like to
have our students bring non-perishable food items.
Please have your child/ren
dress for the weather. I
am assuming the program will be held outside the train, so
please make sure that your child/ren
has warm clothes for standing outside, coats, hats, mittens,
boots, and snowpants. Thank you!
December Service Project
For the next
two weeks, we will be collecting gently used or new toys to
donate to the Tracy Food Shelf.
We donated two big boxes of toys last year!
Let’s make someone’s Christmas very merry!
A box will be set in the front hallway for all toy
donations across from the Advent Wreath.
Advent Angels
Please
remind your child/ren to do nice
things for their Advent Angels during this Advent Season.
I have seen some truly wonderful things happening in our
school during this first week of Advent.
If you have any questions about Advent Angels, please
call the school office.
