Congratulations to Alice Vandendriessche of Tracy, this week’s $100 weekly calendar raffle winner.  Also, congratulations go to Emma Benson of Edina , our $500 Catholic Schools Week Talent Show raffle winner.  Thank you for supporting our school!

 Memorials

A Belated Congratulations to our Second Grade students who had their First Reconciliation on January 30^th!  These students are Hayden Ankrum, Kayden Gilbertson and Lindsey Horner.  We are so proud of you!

February Service Project

The students will be participating in the Mission of Love Valentine Project during the month of February.  Our students will be making valentines for the San Lucas Toliman Mission in Guatemala .  On each Mission Tuesday in February, we are going to use our Mission money to fill the valentines.  $2 is needed to go with each valentine.  Each $2 will feed a family for a week and provide school supplies for the students at the mission.

 SCRIP News

Keep using the SCRIP program to earn money towards your tuition costs.  It is easy to use and if you have any questions call Linnea at 629-4745 or 829-8437 or talk to Robin in the office.  If we increase SCRIP, we can depend less on fundraisers!

 Pep Fest

We will be kicking off our St. Mary’s Tournament on Friday, February 19^th with a pep fest in the school gym at 1:15 p.m.  We will introduce our basketball teams, cheer a little, and play lightning with Saturday’s basketball team.  Everyone is more than welcome to attend!  If you would like to help the teachers and coaches play lightning against the students, just show up at 1:15 p.m.  We can’t wait to see you there!

 Office Check-In

Please remember to check-in at the office when you come to school during the school day.  This is not only for the security of the school, but also to keep classroom disturbances down to a minimum.  Thank you so much for your help with this matter!  We’ll see you the next time you stop by! J

 Lenten Fish Fry

The Fish Fry is scheduled for Friday, March 12^th from 5 – 7 p.m. at IHM in Currie.  Please be willing to help out when called to work.  The fish are fried outside so you won’t smell like fish if you help in the basement so no excuses! J  We plan to serve the Baked Potato Bar as an entrée as well.  Help support our school.  Stations of the Cross will be said at 7:00 p.m.  Thanks, Linnea Surprenant.

 St. Mary’s Tournament

Our St. Mary’s Tournament is coming up on Saturday, February 20^th.  This year it is a 5^th Grade Tournament!  St. Mary’s first game will be at 10:30am!!  Come and cheer us on!  GO ECHOES!!!!

  Mission Mass with Bishop

On Sunday, March 14^th at 2:00 p.m. in Milroy at St. Michael’s Church, Bishop LeVoir will be celebrating Mass with the groups of people who have volunteered and visited the Mission at San Lucas Toliman.  Monsignor Greg Schaeffer will also be joining the celebration of Mass.   The students at St. Mary’s School have been invited to sing a song in Spanish after communion that afternoon.  Please let the school office know if your child can sing at Mass that afternoon. So far, we have a couple of students signed up, but we need more who can help.  Thanks!

 Stations of the Cross

Starting on Friday, February 19^th we will be having Stations of the Cross each Friday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. in the Church.  Benediction will follow Stations of the Cross each Friday.  Everyone is more than welcome to join us!

 Catholic Schools Week Soup and Pie

Thanks so much to everyone that contributed food and worked to help make the fundraiser a success!  We served about as many people as last year, even with the bad weather!  A special thanks to our alumni families and extended family volunteers: Marianne Ankrum, Kathy Laleman, Gary, Joan, Matt, and Jen LaVoy, Patty and Dave LeClaire, Joe and Maria Schreier, and Scott and Kim Olafson.  Also, thanks to Immaculate Heart of Mary Confirmation students!  We appreciate all of the help!  Linnea.
