3rd & 4th Grade
Nursing Home Visit
The Prairie View
Nursing Home Visit that the 3rd and 4th
Graders missed due to school being cancelled has been rescheduled
for Thursday, January 21st.
We are just going to change the date on the permission slips
you have already signed without resending new ones home.
If you have any questions, please call the school office.
Winter Attire
It’s that time
of year! Please send
your children with everything they’ll need for winter weather.
This includes snowpants, boots, hats, mittens, and coats.
We go outside every day unless it is 0 or below.
Please make sure that your children have everything they
need. Also, don’t
forget to go to www.marshallradio.net
and check if there are any cancellations or postponements when the
weather turns nasty.
Box Tops
Keep in mind
that our Box Tops Competition will begin next Monday, January 18th
and will run through Monday, February 1st.
Boxes will be in each classroom for the students to put their
box tops in. The grade
that brings in the most box tops by February 1st will be
treated to breakfast by Mrs. Neuman on Thursday, February 4th.
Schwan’s Truckload
Sale
This year, we
once again have an opportunity to have our Schwan’s purchases
benefit St. Mary’s School! Coming
home in today’s mail is a catalog and pre-order form from
Schwan’s. This
pre-order form is for our truckload sale taking place on Friday,
February 5th from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Everyone is invited to buy what they would like from the
Schwan’s truck and St. Mary’s receives a percentage of the
return. The pre-order
forms are used to make sure that the items you want are available
for your purchase. Pre-Order forms need to be turned into the school office by Monday,
February 1st. No
money is needed now all payments are made on February 5th.
St. Mary’s Basketball
Our Basketball
season is in full swing! Our
next game is Saturday, January 16th at 10:00 a.m. in
Lynd, our next home game is Sunday, January 24th at 1:30
p.m. against Balaton.
End of 2nd Quarter
The end of
second quarter is fast approaching; Friday, January 22nd
is that last day. Please
make sure that your child/ren are working hard to finish up any
remaining work that they may have and are working toward their AR
goals.
Catholic Schools Week
Catholic Schools
Week will be here before we know it.
We are busy planning the events.
Please mark your calendars now for four things.
On Sunday, January 31st we will have our opening
mass in
Tracy
at 10:30 a.m., all students participate by singing and several
students will have other Mass parts.
Our Scholastic Book Fair and School Open House will follow
that
Mass.
Wednesday, February 2nd
is our Parent Lunch with the Book Fair to follow.
Friday, February 5th is Mass at 8:30 a.m. and our
Annual Talent Show that afternoon.
Closing Mass will be in Currie at Immaculate Heart of Mary
Church at 9:45 a.m. Students
will participate in lecturing and will sing after Communion.
Our Soup and Pie will follow Mass.
January Service Project
Our service
project for January is Pennies
for Patients which helps fundraise for the Leukemia and Lymphoma
Society. We will kick
off our service project on Monday, January 18th.
Students are encouraged to bring in their change.
We will have a competition between the boys and the girls to
see who brings in the most pennies.
Our competition ends on Friday, January 29th.
Parent Meeting
Thank you to all
of the parents who attended the parent meeting last night.
You shared some terrific ideas and we are definitely working
on developing them. Next
week, Wednesday, January 20th is the Parish Meeting at
7:00 p.m. in the school gym. Any
parents who missed last night’s meeting or those who want to share
more ideas are more than welcome to come next Wednesday night.
