 Welcome!

We would like to welcome a new student to our school.  Jahayra Ortiz is in the 4^th grade and we are very excited to have her with us.  We would also like to welcome her family, her father, Hector Ortiz, her mother, Diana Perez, and her little sister, Jasmin Ortiz, to our St. Mary’s School family.

 Report Cards

If you didn’t bring your child/ren’s report card to conferences, please return them to school as soon as possible.  Thank you!

 Fall Conferences

We really enjoyed visiting with parents on Tuesday evening and look forward to seeing the rest of our parents tonight at conferences.

 Dismissal Time

At the start of this school year, we had changed our dismissal time to 3:05 p.m. due to the timing at the public school.  The public school has since changed their schedule again, so we are returning to the normal 3:00 p.m. dismissal time.  I apologize for any confusion, just know that school ends at 3:00 from now on.

 Candy Sales

Be sure to pick up your candy sales kit during conferences.  Candy Sales run through the month of November.

Congratulations!

Congratulations to Hannah Brockway and Victoria Schons who are our 5^th Grade Consistent Academic Achievers this year.  They will be honored at next week’s American Education Banquet on Thursday, November 19^th at the Shetek Bend.  Way to go girls!

 Meals for Horner’s

Thank you to everyone who has already volunteered to bring a meal to the Horner family.  We have up until November 19^th covered.  Please help us keep them supplied with meals up to Christmas Break.  I know that the family really appreciates your efforts.  It’s one more thing that Tammy doesn’t have to worry about while she is in Sioux Falls with Joseph.

 Thanksgiving Meal for Food Shelf

Thank you to everyone who has brought in items for our Thanksgiving Meal.  We are still in need of more food items.  I will need to take everything to the food shelf on Friday, November 20^th.  Let’s make some families’ Thanksgiving wonderful!

 SCRIP News

Plan ahead for your holiday shopping and gift cards!  Use SCRIP to easily earn dollars toward the cost of tuition.  If you need copies of the national scrip vendors, let the office know or go to www.glscrip.com and check out the list of vendors.  JCPenney, Shopko, Cabela’s, Walgreens, and Applebee’s are offering 1% bonuses now through the end of the year.  Keep in mind that even if you use Tracy Food Pride and HyVee, you can earn 5% credit towards your tuition.  Casey’s is 3% credit.  Keep in mind that for your Thanksgiving weekend shopping, you will need to get your orders in by November 19^th to receive them before the long weekend.

 H1N1 Flu Clinic

This is a reminder for all parents who returned the forms requesting their child/ren’s H1N1 vaccine, the vaccine clinic will be held here at St. Mary’s on Wednesday, November 18^th during school hours.
