Catholic
Schools Week
Catholic Schools Week took place this year from Sunday, January 31st to
Sunday, February 7th. This year's theme was Catholic Schools:
Dividends for Life. Each day during the week, we chose a different
theme stemming from the Catholic Schools Week campaign. Monday we
focused on Faith, Tuesday we focused on Knowledge, Wednesday's focus was
Discipline, and Thursday's focus was Morals. Each morning the school
participated together in a prayer service and then there was an activity
each afternoon.
Monday we spent time outside participating in the Winter Olympics.
Students were grouped together in teams and participated in events such as
the bobsled race, the luge, and the snowball toss. Students and
staff had a wonderful time outside.
Tuesday, St. Mary's students in all grades participated in a Spelling
Bee. There was one winner from each grade. Everyone did a
terrific job spelling. Second graders could have gone on all
