May Crowning
At
the start of each May, we honor Mary by Crowning her Queen of Heaven and
Mother of Jesus. The students bring flowers and we place them in
vases at the feet of our Mary statue. The oldest grade in school
reads a prayer service and girls from that grade are chosen to crown
Mary. We usually crown the outside Mary statue as a whole school and
then the 5th and 6th graders crown the Mary statue that resides in the
school building alone. This year, because of the weather, everyone
was forced inside for May Crowning.

Students, teachers, and parishioners, along with Father, are gathered in
the front hallway.

Kristin was crown bearer and looks on as Courtney crowns Mary. |
